Designation VP - Credit Risk- Team Lead
Job Description
  • To lead the GSC based Special Credit Unit covering HK and rest of Asia pacific SCU teams.
  • Manage and develop a team of around 11 senior SCU employees (3 GCB5s + 8 GCB6s) and business processes and procedures to ensure effective and independent day to day operations in order to clearly demonstrate value added support to the onshore AMH and ASP Special Credit Unit teams.
  • Be the SCU credit approver for relationships, based on delegated authority.
  • Provide account, impairment and other related information to senior management and HK reports team in a timely manner.
  • If required, to directly manage accounts classified CRR8.1- 10.0 with especially challenging or sensitive nature and to provide credit advisory service and monitoring work to front line for Watch List accounts.
  • Assist in improving credit quality across AMH and ASP by drawing observations from covered accounts and assist in disseminating the lending points through training opportunities and Lessons Learnt.
  • Contribute as part of ASP SCU senior leadership team for critical projects such as the global SCU transformation initiatives, SCU reviews, Audits and streamlining  initiatives aimed at refining / improving systems and processes.
Desired Profile
  • 8+ years of post-qualification experience in handling small business or commercial credits and dealing with customers and government agencies or equivalent (relevant loan workouts and/or commercial lending and/or commercial recovery experience).
  • In-depth understanding of accounting, financial analysis, credit products i.e. all fund & non fund based credit products viz. – term loans, OD/CC, LC/BG, bill discounting, factoring, forex loans.
  • Good knowledge of International Trade Financing, treasury / derivative products will be preferred.
  • Ability to analyze loan documentation including syndicated credit agreements, analyze complex corporate financial statements as well as personal net worth statements.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to quickly interpret data & facts to arrive at meaningful conclusions and assess the business/ financial prospects of the borrowers.
  • Awareness of IFRS9 Expected Credit Loss calculation methodologies is preferred
  • Ability to interpret loan and credit agreement amendments, cash flows and financial statements.
  • Working knowledge of internal loan systems and loan approval system.
  • Strong team player able to work cooperatively with existing SCU RMs and SCU/WMR Management.
  • Understand the basics of bankruptcy and bankruptcy law
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Credit Policy, Lending Officer Procedures and Underwriting Guidelines and collateral/security lien procedures.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust to the demands of information project requirements driven by senior management and regulators
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiations, problem-solving, communications, decision - making and persuasion skills
  • Knowledge of application of law as it applies to banking, business loans, bankruptcy, contracts, securities, Uniform Commercial and Real Estate Codes.
