• Build and Manage a self-sufficient team consisting of highly technical and skilled engineers of varying experience level
• Utilize advanced knowledge of surgical procedures and lead the team to develop innovative solutions that satisfy customer and T&E business needs.
• Establish user needs while analyzing surgeon VOC and competitor systems.
• Supervise R&D engineers during design development and DFM of product designs.
• Review critical design control documents (DCDs) including DIOVV, Risk Analysis, dFMECA & Design reviews and ensure utmost quality of work.
• Work with quality assurance to finalize and approve DCDs.
• Work with AO to create DCPs, inspection plans and conduct DFM with suppliers.
• Ensure all project deliverables are executed per the requirements of DQP 25-003 Design control procedure.
• Build productive and collaborative internal/external professional relationships across Divisions & GQO functions
• Visit division to conduct cadaver labs and maintain strong partnership with extended team.
• Act as R&D representative during creation & submission of regulatory filings and completion of other launch deliverables.
• Provide mentorship to team members on product verification and validation requirements including static-fatigue stress analysis, tolerance stack up analysis and establishing test plans with BML.
• Monitor the work-load of all individuals and optimize based on project needs.
• Participate in the creation of the project pipeline and update/develop team skillsets accordingly.
• Conduct mid-year and annual performance review of team members and evaluate the targets achieved.
• Create annual budgets and get approval from upper management.

• 12 plus years of experience in complex product design including 8 years of experience in medical device or similarly regulated industry.
• Proven leadership capability with at least 5 years of experience in people management of teams consisting of more than 5 members.
• Experience in mentoring engineers in best practices, industry trends and other engineering skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and execute complex NPD projects, from inception through launch, within tight timelines on at least 3 prior projects.
• Expertise in CAD modelling and detailing using Pro-E Wildfire or Similar software.
• Expertise in GD&T as per ASME Y14.5 - ASME GD&T certification highly desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and inspection methods.
• Proven track record around working within a global team and employing excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Travel-up to 20%
