Desired Profile
  • Ensure that adequate financial systems, budgets and procedures are in place that provide accurate reporting and allocating of all funds and expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain polices and controls for financial functions in India.
  • Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all financial transactions may pass independent and government audits.
  • Implement ongoing financial audit and internal control systems to monitor performance, flow of funds, and adherence to the budget, expenditures, income and other budgetary items.
  • Coordinate and manage activities of appointed auditors ensuring all regulatory and compliance issues are met, and the preparation of annual financial statements is in accordance with India and    international accounting standards.
  • Oversee relationship with the Indian bank and guide finance team to monitor bank accounts and ensure adequate cash flow.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness in financial tracking and coordinate with grants team in the reporting for multiple donor funded projects, including chart of accounts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including account balances, cash flow and cash request statements, and additional periodic financial reports as required.
  • Supervise and guide all office locations in India to ensure financial entries are complete and correct; institute a quality control system to verify accuracy and ensure appropriate record keeping.
  • With Finance team, prepare and compute withholding taxes and other statutory deductions in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations, and handle any other taxation issues.
  • Work with auditors to ensure audits are completed, filed in a timely and accurate manner meeting the highest standards.
  • Take lead with Country Director for holding board meetings of associate entities in India.
  • Assist India Country Director, and other department leads in preparing annual and quarterly budgets and plans as well as measurable goals for the growth and financial health of the organization.
  • Will oversee contracts and grants management, through guidance to overall strategy development, including implementation of contracts and grants management systems for all donor programs.
  • Support grants team in budget tracking including the development of cash flow estimates in line with donor requirements as applicable in consultation and coordination with department leads.
  • Will review and advice on internal control systems to monitor performance of program, related to grant management, including processes for flow of funds, adherence to donor budget, budget variance, and other related items in coordination with all teams, and specific to grant functions.
  • Will develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the India program procured from donor funds as per organizational policies, including conducting review and revisions from time to time based on donor policies.
  • Will ensure finance and grants team provide correct reports, including variance reports on all donor funded projects with team leads for program improvements on a regular basis.
  • Will oversee network administration, manage and evaluates information systems, in consultation with partners, including for introduction of new systems as appropriate.
  • Will lead and manage Operations and Administrative Staff, including front office, and travel coordination.
  • Will oversee all India program operations, including, but not limited to office locations, information technology, and other administration.
  • Will review all existing systems- Procurement and Administrative, with a focus on quality improvements and optimization of systems capacity.
  • Will develop and ensure implementation of standards for file management (electronic and hard copy), and consult with partners on the same.
  • Will review and supervise daily office operations, negotiate contracts, guide and oversee vendor relationships, acts as primary liaison for all rental discussions, and office premises, develop and oversee office standard operating procedures.
  • Will communicate effectively with internal and external constituencies, e.g. staff, consultants, vendors, potential partners, and donors as required.
