Job Details

Good knowledge of indirect tax i.e. VAT, Service Tax and Excise
Managing Indirect Tax data with focus on hygiene of master data and transactional data
Reconciliation and analysis of data
Check sample high value documents checks on the indirect tax data being extracted for accuracy
Timely and accurate preparation and submission of Indirect Tax returns of various countries across the globe
Ensure indirect tax related payments happen to government / tax authorities as per the timelines in respective countries.
Ensure indirect tax related controls and compliance are being met as per the Unilever control framework
Closely work with Unilever global tax teams & Outsourced Service Providers regarding latest changes/amendments in various indirect tax laws across the globe
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation/files on monthly basis related to indirect tax reporting.
Provide clarification on the tax data provided to relevant stakeholders.
Provide documentation / data support on the audit queries raised with analysis performed
Archiving of documents of all the indirect tax related activities from data extraction till filings in company dedicated folders as per ITGC & audit requirements.

Technical Skills

• End user knowledge required in SAP (FI module).
• Awareness of Tax One source tool, Power BI, Tableau and Workflow management tools would be an added advantage.
• Proficient at collecting / querying / consolidating information from accounting / ERP systems.
• Successful transition of indirect tax activities to a Global Hub
• Knowledge of statutory accounting/Direct tax/ tax reporting will be an advantage

• Should have a positive attitude and should able to proactively get the action done.
• Strong problem solving, and analytical skills
• Good interpersonal Skills - Must have the ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with personnel at all levels inside and outside of the company.
• Must be a self-starter with proven ability to take ownership of job responsibilities.
• Knowledge of statutory accounting/Direct tax/ tax reporting will be an advantage
• Must be Qualified CA/CPA with 3-5 years of experience or semi qualified CA with 6-8 years of experience or commerce master’s degree in accounting or finance with 8 to 10 years of experience in direct and indirect tax submission, reporting and audit in MNC, preferably FMCG / manufacturing-based sector
• Certification on international taxation would be an added advantage.
