Job Description
  • Development of agri product for farmers and rural customers
  • Collecting market feedback on products of competitors and making use of the same for product development
  • Conceptualization of relevant product/s and writing product note, BRD (Business Requirement Documents)
  • Submission of product to Product Approval Committee for necessary approvals
  • Automation of products in specified timelines by co-ordinating with ops, risk, IT and other stakeholders
  • Meeting the business SLA’s related to critical product requirements.
  • Lead and manage product revisions/ customizing requirements
  • Proactively engage stakeholders (business and credit) through con-calls, branch visits to architect solutions to key problem areas in products as perceived by customers/ internal stakeholders and achieve satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance to RBI and internal risk guidelines.
  • Lead and train the team on products/ process
  • Managing team of product managers in HO and regions for launch of new products and related trainings


  • Financial / Business:
  • Devising products, secured and unsecured (starting from Agri Group Loans to Composite loans and other secured loans like Kisan Card, Agri Enterprise loans and dairy loans) customizing based on geographical/customer needs adhering to RBI guidelines.
  • Driving team of Asst Product Managers in HO for agri product deployment and monitoring
  • Stages of product development include conceiving products, compare competition, connect with customers, field team
  • Products to be developed keeping in mind P&L of each of the products
  • This role has to closely work with L&OD for training on products developed and timely launch
  • Preparation of product note, submission to Product Approval Committees and getting approvals, launch will be the responsibility of this product manager
  • Products to be developed keeping in mind the risk mitigates like- geographical spread, per borrower/family exposure.
  • Carrying shadow budget of agri loans target of business team, arranging MIS in coordination with strategy/MIS team.
  • Driving sales through contests in coordination with business team.
  • Working with cross-functional team for customizing products developed by others and sold by rural banking
  • Customer
  • Ensure customers are educated about all products/services offered by the Bank.
  • Branch visits and customer visits to understand market needs
  • Ensure lower customer attrition by providing different products as per customer requirement.
  • Focus on lower TAT as per laid down standards- monitor the same through Loan Origination systems
  • Coordinate with Credit and Service Quality in publishing TAT data, First Time Right proposals and initiate corrective action with sales team if it not working on desired lines
  • Coordinating with SLBC (State Level Bankers Committee), Lead Bank, NABARD and other stakeholders for complying with targets on Kisan Credit Card and other product reports to statutory agencies
  • Connecting with other bank peers in understanding differentiated products of the market that ensures better customer experience
  • Internal process
  • Products developed to be in compliance with RBI guidelines and provide key things to be checked by audit
  • Ensure product change requests are attended to in a timely manner and is also in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Monitor health of portfolio-in coordination with credit and initiate corrective steps if any through sales team
  • Ensure sanction validations as per product is adhered to by credit and credit ops team
  • Ensure, supervise the correct implementation of the credit procedures including all the respective tools

Learning & Performance

  • Ensure that all members of his team are up to date on all relevant circulars and all products/services offered in the Branch
  • Evaluate the staff competences in terms of promotion, business assessment and credit risk assessment capacity and propose solutions for improvement
  • Ensure adherence to training man-days/ mandatory training programs for self and reportees
  • Ensure goal-setting, mid-year review and annual appraisal process within specified timelines for self and reportees
  • Monitor performance of staff against defined goals/metrics and take corrective action wherever required; undertake disciplinary and attendance monitoring of team.
Desired Profile
  • Rich knowledge of rural markets and products suitable for rural / semi-urban markets (Rural urban corridors), team management, stake holder coordination and focus on customized products
  • Ability to engage with team including cross-functional teams
  • Ability to plan and coordinate
  • Team Leading Experience is highly preferred
  • Good Computer knowledge- Excel and PPT
  • Establishes a friendly and professional relationship with the entire team
