Job Details

• Manage Shop floor process engineering activities in production line as active member of APU.
• Work on continuous improvement of Production cell layout, material flows, line balancing, standardized work and productivity enhancements.
• Manage the machinery and process tooling design change, trial and implementation.
• Revalidation of assembly tooling, error proofing, process capability for critical characteristics, Spare tooling management.
• Periodic review/update PFD, PFMEA, PCP and WI as result of running changes.
• Preventive replacement of wear/tear tooling, attend line issues, lead trouble shooting activities, Plan Interim and permanent corrective action,
• Support process development team in design of process assembly stations, Cell layout, estimate cycle time, line balancing, material handling, Machine qualification and PPAP.
• Drive improvement in Assembly lines as per LEAN Mfg (SPMs, Test Equipment, Jigs & Fixtures, Tools, work stations etc) & Continuous Improvement Projects, Productivity and Capacity enhancement projects for various existing product lines. Installation & Commissioning, Process Validations & Documentations.
• Meet the plant annual metrics for improvement in productivity, downtime, quality.

• Engineers Should have experience of manufacturing process development & quality systems in reputed MNC based Auto-Components industry. Work experience/background is preferable from companies manufacturing – Fuel pump, fuel delivery module, fuel injectors, carbon canister, throttle body assembly etc.
• Very strong technical background with thorough knowledge of equipment design & development, tooling, jigs& fixtures change over mechanisms, error proofing, pneumatics, electrical circuits , Advanced sensors, leak and flow measurement system.
• Should be able to write equipment specs independently, estimate BOM & perform costing for budgeting for internal purpose & effective negotiations with external suppliers. Good exposure to precision assembly, air leak testing, plastic welding technologies, and flow and pressure measurements, vision system is desirable.
• Thorough understanding of drawings, tolerances & fits preferably GD&T. Good knowledge of 2-D CAD software and MS Office is essential. Knowledge of 3-D CAD software is preferred.
• Should have good understanding of TS 16949 quality systems. Should be very thorough in preparing APQP Process documents like PFD, PFMEA, Control plans & should have adequate knowledge of Control Charts, Measurement Systems Analysis, problem solving techniques
• Should be conversant with lean manufacturing principles for layout planning, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban & Pull System. Good in understanding various forms of waste, should have the capability to take result oriented corrective actions. Should have positive attitude & good coaching skills.
• Should have worked in reputed Industry for at least 5~7 years in a responsible position.
• Should have good communication skills (English) to represent the Manufacturing engineering function
• Should be able to manage team of small tool room team for driving day to day continuous improvement, lean, 5s, TPM,Kaizen etc..
