Job Details

• Review of Contract technical requirements including Client’s specifications.
• Establishes or assists in establishing the detailed project execution plan and the development of the overall project engineering budget and schedule. Inputs to and owns the engineering quantities and budgets.
• Prepares, reviews or recommends approval of project procedures for engineering, as required.
• Participation in progress related activities - schedule generation, reviews, reporting.
• Coordinates engineering effort with other engineering offices, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) and QC/QA when assigned.
• Preparation of project proposals, including estimates for engineering quantities, scope reviews, schedules and coordination with other disciplines/functional groups.
• Performs bid analysis and recommendations for procurement of equipment material and services within Engineering’s scope of responsibility.
• Resolves field-initiated questions on engineering.
• Visits jobsite or other offices, as required for exchange of information.
• Coordinates activities among the design groups/offices on the project.
• Reviews work of subordinate team members. Ensures quality of deliverables.
• Manages the flow of information required from third parties to assure the timely progress of the engineering work.
• Ensures that Technical Risk Assessments are comprehensive and complete, safety practices and procedures are implemented, and engineering design and corresponding design documentation are in compliance with project Quality Assurance plan and procedures.
• Communicates technical issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Champions the creation of a project work environment, supported by leadership on the project/program, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

• A recognized degree in mechanical or civil engineering from an accredited college or university with a minimum 12 years’ experience, OR
• A professional license from a recognized licensing board, OR
• Specialized courses in relevant engineering design or an appropriate engineering discipline, AND
• Progressive work experience, including supervision in building, rail, road or airport projects. Experience in startup, field engineering or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants or engineering/construction firms.
