Job Details

1) Gather and update market intelligence on Logistics
2) Float enquiries as per logistics requirement, obtain offers and evaluate the same
3) Obtain quotation against the enquiries from eligible vendors
4) Conduct technical evaluation of the transportation scheme submitted by the vendor with respect to safety, feasibility and cost effectiveness
5) Conduct commercial evaluation of the vendor proposal w.r.t. internationally accepted contract terms and statutory requirements
6) Conduct negotiations with vendors for cost effective logistics
7) Interact with the clients / customers w.r.t. logistics scheme
8) Monitor inward / outward transportation through trucks / trailers and manage day-to-day logistics function
9) Do continuous evaluation and review of vendors and approve accordingly
10) Conduct regular route surveys for efficient and effective transportation
11) Ensure adherence to IMS norms and standards
12) Drive management systems and initiatives such as IMS, TPM, KAIZEN and Business Excellence for department

1) Knowledge of logistical field operations by trucks, trailers, axles, barges, ships etc.
2) Knowledge of statutory, contractual and safety regulations and requirements related to logistics
3) Knowledge of cranes and lifting tackles
4) Knowledge of shipping operations of export-import cargo and processes
5) Knowledge of road routes and sea routes for logistics of critical cargos
6) Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and related procedures
7) Knowledge of ERP
