Job Description

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible to manage a dynamic group of professionals across various function supporting Collateral Management group.
  • Engage in new product review meetings for Collateral management discussions for onboarding of new clients.
  • Optimize Collateral value through monitoring and re-hypothecation of securities/bonds, thereby reducing cost of collateral for the bank.
  • Create process efficiencies through innovation and improvements. Deliver business value to customers and internal partners.
  • Risk mitigation by raising self identified audit issue for process gaps
  • Complete Process Control Standards by responding to global questionnaire on expected controls within process. Evidencing of controls and closure of open issues.
  • Engage in Global Corporate Audit for the process, review checklist and ensure all process documentation, procedures and data is available for auditors. Work closely with Global teams for audit compliance and take required action on audit observations.
  • Monitor Swing Report and Collateral feeds for impacted counterparties
  • Design solutions for non-standard processes, client requirement and reporting.
  • Complete monthly Risk scorecard for the process
  • Take lead and partner with business for Global change initiatives, regulatory compliance efforts and strategic infrastructure projects. Ensure team preparedness, training, UAT and seamless go-live implementation.
  • Manage new process migrations and ramp-up of existing processes. Ensure all required project migration documents, technology scope, training plan and process procedures, approvals etc are in place.
  • Review aged investigations cases and be the point of contact for escalating to business, front office or clients as required
  • Co-ordinate BCP efforts with sister site and onshore partners to meet bank standards for satisfactory BCP result
  • Manage process issues and escalations with root cause analysis and remediation plan
  • Prepare agenda for weekly calls with business partners. Take ownership on the call and lead discussions on process issues and updates. Ask relevant questions and contribute to the business forum.
  • Verify margins cash flow, back-up documentation and release/approve cash movements in the system
  • Exceptions management work with the team to resolve cash and security breaks pertaining to Collateral movement
  • High priority clients need to be reviewed on a daily basis for their margin calls and get required approvals from Credit Risk/Collateral Sr management for making adjustments to pay-out.
  • Supervise and monitor process MISCOs and associate/FLM task trackers daily for completion
  • Talent and succession planning for key associates to promote career growth and employee development
  • Resource management and hiring of associates as per business requirement
  • Monthly metrics and scorecard reporting along with process commentary for highlights, challenges and focus items
Desired Profile

Key skills required:

  • Ability to verbally articulate complex scenarios clearly
  • Ability to diffuse contentious situations with Client and/or business (conflict resolution)
  • Quickly identify root cause of problems and assign ownership. Should have an eye for detail.
  • Rigorous engagement of questions, disputes and inquiries
  • Distill customer/business complaints down to base facts, reiterate key issues back to customers and then present a clear view of remediation steps . Converse in a manner that assures clients the issues are understood and is experienced enough identify a path toward a solution.
  • To stay on top of problems and follow through until resolution

Desired skills*

  • Communication Skills: Ability to present complex issues/ideas to all levels of management in a highly professional and understandable manner. Good presentation and articulation skills are a must.
  • Leadership: Experience with mentoring staff to maintain continuity in key functions within the groups mandate as well as building and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Software: advanced Excel and Access skill
