Designation Equity Manager
Job Description

The role will require expertise of financial products, strong people management as well the ability to communicate effectively at senior level 


Key responsibilities will include:
Daily P&L production (Asset classes: Equities, Treasury, Fixed Income, Commodities, FX etc.)
Ensure timely lockdown of daily and monthly P&L (including market commentaries)
Should be able to substantiate daily and monthly adjustments held in p&l and control accounts if any.
Review monthly balance sheet, with substantiation and potential financial exposure.
Review various reconciliation reports, management packs and adhoc reports.
Review of month end Journals for accrual, provision and true up.
Take responsibility for the quality of work submitted and ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
Ensure adherence to SLA's, KPI's , Internal metrics & FMG wide policies.
Identify/ manage risk and control breakdowns.
Develop & Maintain effective and standard processes.
Stakeholder Management
Regular face off with Traders, Product Control Management team.
Act as a point of reference for team members and internal stakeholders.
Manage relationship with internal stakeholders, take regular feedback, anticipate and understand issues and escalate appropriately for timely resolution
Manage strong relationship with Support teams (Finance, IT, operations, and risk) and bring synergies by interacting and integrating with cross functional teams.
People Management
Maintaining a pleasant workplace environment which is motivating and enables high performance within team.
Monitoring people performance, providing timely feedback, performing annual and mid-year appraisals. ( including people development, pipeline/skills monitoring, and training programs,)
Manage leaves and attrition, create sufficient backup / cross trainings.
Minimise dependency on key people by cross training and succession planning.
Manage career and growth expectations of people.
Leverage upon knowledge and skills sitting with other teams at same location or similar team sitting across the globe.
Enable movement of people as and when required to manage resourcing across function.
Change Management
Support / Co-operate change project initiatives and conduct User Acceptance Testing for enhancements to current systems or migration to new system.
Continues focus to improve the process speed, accuracy, proactively identifying and eliminating operational risks.
Coordinate for new migrations which include scoping of activities to migrated, identifying people resources, travel planning, transition planning, Monitor training and obtaining sign-off from all stakeholders. 


Experienced person in financial services and exposure to financial products, accounting and statutory reporting.

Postgraduate/ professional accounting qualification, preferably CA / CPA or MBA.


Minimum 7-9 years of financial services / professional experience.


Background in product control or chartered environment with exposure to financial products such as Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Treasury etc.


Strong leadership and management skills; ability to lead and motivate medium to large size teams.


Self-starter with strong control mind set.


Willingness to work in different time zones to support businesses.


Willingness to travel overseas
